What Is the Best Video Setup for Your Home Theater Installation?

Optimize Quality and Style with These Solutions

Are you looking to splurge this holiday season with a brand-new home theater installation in your home in New Orleans, LA, or the surrounding areas? The first thing most homeowners think of when getting started is their video options. With so many products out on the market, it’s hard to know where to start. How do you know which projector is the best fit or what screen to pair with it?

This is where a professional can help! As the only Louisiana company awarded CE Pro Top 100 integrator eight years in a row, we have the expertise to build a truly immersive viewing environment. We partner with the top AV brands and install all products ourselves for optimal performance.

Below are our top recommendations, whether building a theater from scratch or upgrading an existing one.

Samsung Short-Throw Projectors

When you think of a projector-and-screen setup, you're likely picturing a projector mounted on the ceiling behind you. However, this type of installation has presented some challenges in residential applications for a variety of reasons. Sometimes, ceiling height or room length make them impractical. In addition, in rooms with ambient light, the diminishing brightness of the projectors also causes issues.

The solution: ultra-short throw projectors that can sit just a few inches from the screen. Our go-to is the Samsung Premier 4K laser projector, which delivers 2200 lumens to displays of up to 120 inches. It is the first HDR10+ projector for ultimate realism and color depth. The model's sleek design, along with its adaptable screen size and angle, allows for greater freedom when laying out your theater.

Screen Innovations Zero Edge Screen

If you’re installing a high-end projector like the Samsung Premier, you don’t want to waste it on the wrong screen. If the projector is the artist, the screen should be the perfect canvas. We often work with Screen Innovation’s Zero Edge Pro for the same reasons we go with the Premier projector: high quality and design flexibility.

The Zero Edge Pro is a fixed screen with a discreet 13 mm aluminum frame and LED backlighting available with all SI screen materials. We recommend using the Pure White Fabric with a 1.2 gain for optimal brightness and a wide viewing angle. If there is a lot of ambient light, we recommend the Black Diamond screen designed to reject ambient light for a brighter image.

The key to a home theater installation is to never go for a one-size-fits-all approach. So while we recommend the products in this blog, we still advise speaking with one of our theater experts to find out how they can best be implemented in your space.
